1. Fujifilm X-T20
Best camera for bloggers on the go (such as travel or fashion bloggers). Additional lens add-ons allow this camera to be used for portraiture or product photography.
Benefits of this Camera
- Mirrorless
- Lightweight
- Incredibly high-quality images
- Remote and hands-free options for those who take photos of themselves
- Wi-Fi for bloggers who are on the go and want to share to social media easily
- Different lenses to choose from for further customization
- Touch screen
This lightweight camera happens to be perfect for travel bloggers and anyone who is constantly on the go.
Mirrorless
Mirrorless cameras take high-resolution photos without before too heavy. In this instance, the Fuijfilm X-T20 ends up being a pretty lightweight camera due to the fact that it is mirrorless. This works out perfectly for anybody who needs to carry their camera around with them for long hours at a time.
Remote
The Fujifilm X-210 allows you to download an app that connects to your smartphone. If you are traveling solo, you’ll never have to worry about missing out on the perfect shot as you can adjust everything from your phone once you’ve downloaded the app. Just set your camera up on a tripod, open the app and see exactly what your camera sees through the lens on the screen of your phone!
The remote also makes this the best camera for beauty bloggers or fashion bloggers who need to snap high-quality photos of their makeup or an outfit.
And as a beauty blogger, if you are looking to make affiliate sales by sharing your favorite makeup or fashion finds, it’s essential to capture high-quality photos that highlight your makeup or clothing. This camera is perfect for that.
Wi-Fi
If you need to upload photos right away from your camera to your social media accounts but don’t have your laptop on you to transfer the images, the Fujifilm X-T20 will allow you to use the built-in Wi-Fi to transfer photos to your phone.

2. Canon EOS Rebel T6i
Best camera for blogging in lifestyle, food, design, decor or fashion niches. Additional lens add-ons allow this camera to be used for portraiture or product photography.
Benefits of this Camera
- DSLR
- Incredibly high-quality images
- Remote and hands-free options for those who take photos of themselves
- Wi-Fi for bloggers who are on the go and want to share to social media easily
- Different lenses to choose from for further customization
The Canon EOS Rebel is a popular line of cameras. For a DSLR, the price is a bit more affordable than some other cameras, so if you are looking for something that doesn’t break the bank, you might want to look into a Canon Rebel. This camera is heavier, however, so if you plan to be taking your camera with you for hours at a time, this one might be a bit too heavy.
This camera comes with an EF-S 18-55mm IS STM lens but you are able to buy more lenses to suit your project and blogging needs.

Wi-Fi
Built-in Wi-Fi will help you transfer your photos when you are on the go. If you plan to be out of the house to take the majority of your photos, built-in Wi-Fi is a must!
Remote
The Canon EOS Rebel T6i also offers remote capability so you can take photos from your smartphone without having to get someone to help you! Unfortunately, you are not able to take video from your smartphone so if videos are a large part of your content creation, you won’t be able to sue the remote control for shooting them.
Video
The stabilization in this camera isn’t the best but that doesn’t mean you can’t use it for YouTube, vlogging or other video creation. This camera would be best when used to film with a tripod. If you plan to film freehand, there are better options. Because you can’t use the remote for video, I wouldn’t recommend this camera for someone who needs to film lots of video content on their own.
- Depth: 3.1 in
- Sensor Resolution: 24.2 Megapixel
- Optical Sensor Type: CMOS
- Optical Sensor Size: 14.9 x 22.3mm
- Field of View Crop Factor: 1.6

The Panasonic Lumix G7 is another mirrorless camera, but that doesn’t mean the photos won’t be DSLR quality and the price is fantastic for anyone looking for an affordable, lightweight camera that can take quality photos and videos, making it the best video camera for travel blogging.
This comes with a 14-42mm MEGA O.I.S. lens and lenses are interchangeable if you ever need to get a different lens.

If the above cameras are out of your price range, no need to worry.
There are still plenty of suitable cameras for blogging on a budget.
While these cameras might have fewer bells-and-whistles, they are good cameras for hobby-bloggers or casual bloggers.

Wi-Fi
Although this camera doesn’t have some of the features and capabilities of a higher-end camera, it still offers Wi-Fi so you can transfer any photos you get to yourself while out of a Wi-Fi zone, which is a great feature to have!

Best camera for social media and blogging as a hobby

- Mirrorless

- High video quality
Another great camera for someone just starting out is the Kodak PixPro. This point-and-shoot camera lets you focus more on your content so you don’t need to spend time trying to figure out how to work your camera.
If you are just starting your blog, you’re likely in over your head with information overload so the last thing you want to do is try and learn how to use your camera.
Alternatively, if you plan to blog as a hobby, this is a low-investment camera.
This camera has 22 scene settings so you can choose the type of setting you are shooting in, and get to work!

This mirrorless camera is great for taking it with you on the go. It’s nice and light frame means you can easily pack it up and take it wherever you may need.
Video
Another great contender for video, the Kodak PixPro has 720p HD video.
25x Optic Zoom
If you photograph events, this zoom could definitely come in handy! It won’t be very useful if you are just taking styled photographs of stationery items, but for events where you want to feel like you are right in the action (without being in the center of the action) this 25x optic zoom will be incredibly handy!
8. Canon Powershot SX530
Benefits of this Camera
- Mirrorless
- 50x optic zoom makes it very easy to capture from a distance
- Built-in WiFi to make sharing photos to social media seamless
- HD video
- Compact and lightweight
- Optical Image Stabilizer technology helps beginners take stable and crisp photos
Mirrorless and Lightweight
One big point I’ve mentioned throughout this article is the difference between DSLR and mirrorless cameras, with mirrorless cameras often being much lighter and more compact than their DSLR counterparts. A lightweight camera often makes a great camera for blogging as it’s easy to carry around for long periods of time.
Wi-Fi
As a blogger, you’re likely going to be sharing aspects of your life on the fly. Having a camera with Wi-Fi is very important which is why this camera makes a great budget blogging camera.
Optical Image Stabilizer
If you are a beginner blogger and photographer, having a camera with Optical Image Stabilizer will help your images come out crisp, regardless if you have mastered a steady hand or not.
Video
Due to the high-quality video produced from this camera, it is a great camera for vloggers.
50x Optic Zoom
A blogging camera that allows you to capture clear images from a distance can be very helpful for those who travel lots and aren’t always guaranteed to be up close and personal to their subjects.
What to look for in a good camera for blogging
Most of the above cameras have these qualities, which is what makes them some of the best cameras for blogging. Here’s what you want to look for in a camera for your blog, vlog or social media.
Versatile
Bloggers rarely use one platform. And by that, I mean they are present in many different places including their blog; Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and possibly many other social platforms.
When you first begin searching for a blogging camera, it’s important to determine what you will need your camera for, and it’s important your camera be versatile enough to meet those requirements.
If you like shooting videos, you will want to find a camera that is good for both photos and videos. If you plan to shoot products for your business or a store on your blog, you will want a camera that is good for product photography.
Wi-Fi
Cameras with built-in Wi-Fi are really handy! There is no need to take the memory card to your computer to extract the photos with built-in Wi-Fi. If you are on-the-go a lot or away from a computer when you take most of your photos, you are going to want to look for a camera that offers built-in Wi-Fi to transfer your photos to your phone or another device. Luckily, all the cameras I mentioned on this list have built-in Wi-Fi.
Lens
The type of lens you get for your camera will depend on what you plan to shoot. If you want to do product photography or portrait photography, opt for a lens with a wider aperture. A wider aperture will let in more light and will help you achieve that nice “blurred” background.
If you are a travel blogger or someone who plans to shoot urban or landscape photography, you may want to consider a lens with a narrow aperture to help you capture an image that is sharp (with no blurring).
Remote
As a blogger or entrepreneur taking images for your social media, you are likely taking all your photos yourself (and don’t have a photography assistant). Especially if you are a fashion blogger who needs to take outfit photos frequently but doesn’t have someone to take your photos.
Having a camera with a remote that can hook up to your phone will make your life much easier! A remote will allow you to take photos of yourself easily and doesn’t require you to physically be at your camera to get a good shot.
Why Do Bloggers Need A Good Camera?
Bloggers rely on beautiful images and videos to use for both their social media and blogs. While you can use websites like Pexels for free stock photography, taking your own photos will allow you to create the imagery you want to share on your social media and blog.
Bloggers and vloggers need cameras for various tasks, but the main ones are:
- when working with brands
- to film videos for YouTube and other social platforms
- to create imagery for social media and marketing
- to take headshots of yourself for about pages or lifestyle blog images
- to take photos/video for your blog posts or YouTube channel
- to create posts and stories for Instagram
These days, phones provide fairly high-quality imagery but they lack the ability to get technical. Phones “point-and-shoot” but don’t allow the user to get specific.
If you plan to keep your blog just for fun, then using your phone to shoot your photos will be a cost-effective option. However, if you plan to work with brands as a blogger and make money blogging, you will want to invest in a camera that can produce high-quality images.
Overall: Best Camera For Blogging and Social Media
The camera you choose depends on the needs your blog and social media has. If you are a blogger who is constantly traveling around, I would recommend looking at one of the three mirrorless cameras mentioned above. They take photos that are just as good as a DSLR but aren’t going to be heavy and will fit into your bag easily. A DSLR camera would be more suited for someone who takes most of their images at home and doesn’t need to carry a camera around, however, that isn’t to say that a mirrorless camera isn’t good for inside the house either.
As someone who is just starting out and on a budget, the Canon Powershot or the Kodak PixPro are great options and can help you get clear images until you feel the need to upgrade.
For vloggers, I’d recommend the Sony Alpha a6000 or the Panasonic Lumix G7. If you don’t plan to take your camera out with you a lot and you plan to shoot the majority of your photos at home, the Canon EOS Rebel T6i is an affordable DSLR.
If the focus of your content creation is mainly imagery with a few videos here and there and you plan to travel around with your camera, the Fujifilm X-T10 is going to be the best choice. It’s the camera that I personally use and I never plan to upgrade from it!
As a blogger, my top camera pick is the Fufjifilm X-T10. Bloggers use a variety of cameras depending on what kind of content they need to create. Mirrorless cameras are great for bloggers because they take crystal-clear imagery without being heavy to lug around.
